Three services,
each paced for the
family it serves.

We do not offer one-size solutions. The right level of legal involvement depends on the complexity and circumstances of each family's situation.

How we work

Our Methodology

Every engagement at Mahligai Kasih follows the same foundational discipline: we listen before we advise, and we advise before we file. No documents are submitted, no proceedings formally commenced, until the client has had a clear explanation of what will happen next and has expressly agreed to proceed.

We favour resolution over escalation. Where a matter can be concluded through negotiation or mediation without contested proceedings, we pursue that route and explain its advantages. Where court involvement is unavoidable, we prepare the client thoroughly for each stage and accompany them through it.

Our typical engagement sequence: initial consultation and written summary, formal instructions and cost agreement, drafting and client review, any mediation sessions, formal filing and court attendance where required, conclusion and documentation of outcomes.

Service 02

Divorce Petition & Settlement Drafting

Considered drafting and procedural support for divorce proceedings under Malaysian civil family law, including financial settlements, property division discussions, and arrangements concerning children. The firm favours negotiated outcomes where these are possible and presents realistic expectations on time and cost before formal filings. Each document is reviewed with the client in plain English before signature.

What this service includes:

  • Drafting of divorce petition and supporting documents
  • Financial settlement and property division guidance
  • Children's arrangement discussions and drafting
  • Plain-English review of all documents before signing
  • Negotiation support with the other party's solicitor

Typical timeline:

Uncontested matters: 3 to 6 months from filing. Contested matters: timeline shared candidly at the outset and reviewed throughout.
