Client Testimonials
"What I remember most is that nobody hurried me. I arrived at that first meeting not knowing what I wanted, and the lawyer let me take my time to explain the situation before saying anything at all. The written summary I received afterwards was genuinely useful — I read it several times over the following weeks before deciding to proceed."

"The process of getting divorced is, frankly, unpleasant in ways that no amount of legal advice can fully soften. What Mahligai Kasih did do was make the legal side of it as straightforward as I think it could have been. The settlement document was reviewed line by line with me — I understood everything that I signed."

Divorce Settlement · February 2025
"My situation involved both civil and Syariah considerations — something I had been told by another firm would be extremely complicated. Here it was handled with a kind of quiet competence. The explanations were clear. I was never made to feel like my case was unusual or burdensome."

Family Consultation · January 2025
"We came for the restructuring plan, and I think it was the right choice for our circumstances. My former spouse and I were not in conflict — we just needed someone to help us put a proper framework around the arrangements for our children. The mediator sessions were well-managed. The memorandum we ended up with is something I have referred to many times since."

Family Restructuring Plan · April 2025
"I was referred by a friend who had been through a divorce herself. I can see why she recommended this firm. The process was explained well. I was told upfront that it would take several months and roughly what it would cost — and those estimates were accurate. There were no surprises, which is about the most you can ask for in these circumstances."

Divorce Petition · March 2025
"I contacted the firm by email first, because I was not ready to speak to anyone by telephone. They responded thoughtfully and arranged a written exchange before I came in for a meeting. That kind of consideration for where a client actually is emotionally — not just where the process needs them to be — made the whole experience more manageable."

An Uncontested Separation
Situation
A couple in their mid-forties with two school-age children had decided together to separate. They were not in conflict but had not agreed on the specific arrangement for the children's schooling and holidays.
Process
Following two structured sessions and a single mediation meeting, a parenting arrangement was agreed in writing. A family memorandum was prepared and signed by both parties without formal court proceedings.
Outcome
The matter was concluded within eight weeks. No contested proceedings were required. The memorandum has since been referred to on several occasions by both parties without difficulty.

A Complex Property Settlement
Situation
A client sought divorce after a fifteen-year marriage. The principal dispute involved a jointly owned property and the financial contributions each party had made to it over time — a matter that required careful documentary review.
Process
We reviewed the financial records, prepared a settlement proposal, and conducted negotiations with the other party's solicitor over a period of ten weeks. A negotiated property settlement was reached without a contested hearing.
Outcome
The divorce was finalised approximately five months after our initial consultation. The client understood and agreed to every element of the settlement before it was filed.

First Steps After a Difficult Decision
Situation
A client arrived uncertain whether separation was the right step and, if so, whether formal legal involvement was appropriate at this stage. They had not yet discussed the matter with their spouse.
Process
A single initial consultation was held. No action was recommended. A written summary of the options available — including doing nothing for the time being — was provided within two days of the meeting.
Outcome
The client returned to us six months later when they were ready to proceed. The written summary from the first consultation had helped them arrive at that decision with clarity, at their own pace.
